All India Law Entrance Test –
It is an admission test & a university-level law entrance exam conducted every year by the National Law University (NLU) Delhi to admit students to its five years BA LLB (Hons), LLM, and Ph.D. program. This national-level entrance exam is conducted only for admission to law programs in NLU Delhi. University does not accept any other law entrance test.
AILET 2022 Eligibility Criteria –
The eligibility criteria to get admission in NLU Delhi through AILET are mentioned below:-
- For BA LLB (Hons) –
- Candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50 %.
- Candidates appearing for their qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
- For LMM –
- Candidates should he LLB or equivalent degree with a minimum 55% aggregate.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST category must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the final year of LLB degree.
- Candidates appearing for their final year LLB exam can also apply.
- For Ph. D. –
- Candidates should have an LLM degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% (50% for ST/SC).
OR
- Candidates should have completed Law Degree course with a minimum of 55 % from any recognized University like MPhil/ humanities with Master Degree. Such as candidates are required to ensure that the research done by them is relevant to the discipline of Law with a special focus on subjects such as the policy of Law.
OR
- Candidates must have a Ph.D. in any discipline & a completed Degree in Law.
OR
- Candidates are required to have worked as a judge in the Supreme Court or as a judge of a State High Court of India for at least three years.
Important dates of 2022 AILET –
- AILET exam date notification is on 13 November 2022. Exam to be conducted in pen-and-paper mode.
- Online applications date is 1st week of January 2022. Application is for admission to BALBB, LLM, and PhD course.
- Admit card will be issued April/May 2022. Only successfully registered will be issued admit card.
- AILET exam will may I, 2022 (10am to 11am). The exam will be conducted at all India level.

Online registration –
First of all candidates necessary to register online on the official website of NLU Delhi – https://nludelhi.ac.in and pay the fees, fill in all the required details in the application form, and upload prescribed documents and AILET application form can be submitted in only online mode.

AILET Admit Card –
NLU Delhi issues the admit card for the candidates who successfully register before the last date of application. On the day of the examination, candidates have to carry AILET admit card. Admit card is a must. Any candidate who is not carrying the admit card is not allowed to sit in the exam.
AILET Exam –
Candidates should report to the exam centers at least one hour ago the exam Candidates will have to appear at the allotted exam center for the AILET exam Follow the admit card.
Result Declaration –
Within a month after conducting the examination NLU Delhi announced the results. The scorecards of candidates qualifying the examination to mention their AIRs (All India Ranks), overall scores, and sectional scores.
Counseling –
The university conducts AILET counseling on the basis of the rank list released at the time of result. In the counseling session, qualifying candidates are allotted seats in their respective law courses based on merit.
AILET 2016 Application Fee
For GEN/OBC category candidates – Rs. 3000/-
For a person with Disabilities – Rs. 2000/-
For SC/ST category candidates – Rs. 1000/-
The candidates who belong to SC/ST category and are below the poverty line need not pay any application fee.

AILET Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2022 –
AILET question paper for BALLB (Hons) consists of 150 multiple choice questions carrying 1 mark each for which candidates will get 1.5 hours to complete. Question are asked in the exam from subject lie English, comprehension, general knowledge, and current affairs, Elementary mathematics, legal aptitude, and logical reasoning. In the exam, offline mode is done by pen and paper.
