Delhi High Court to perceive the bail plea of Co-founder Zubair on July 14

Delhi High Court has been directed to decide on the bail plea filed by Mohammad Zubair on July 14 citing the non-availability of an Additional Session Judge Devender Kumar Jangala of Patiala House. Therefore, it leads to the extension of the hearing to July 14 at 12:30 pm

In this case, an FIR was registered against Co-founder Mohammad Zubair for hurting religious sentiments by posting a tweet in 2018 in which he referred to a few Hindu seers as “Disparager”.  Additionally gave time to state to record its reaction in four weeks or less.  Zubair in this case was given a five-day interim bail on July 8 by a vacation bench of the apex court. In his defence, his lawyer represented that image in question is from the Hindi film which was made in 1983 but only Zubair was targeted. He was charged under Section 153A and Section- 295 of the Indian Penal Code.

Zubair has earlier been remanded to four days of police custody but the Delhi High court dismissed his plea challenging his custody. Therefore his custody was amplified. Hence his bail plea is yet to be decided.
