In the Indian type of Democracy, where the role of the opposition is crucial for the check on the balance of power and guarding the citizens against any government dictatorship. But in the current scenario, the opposition has no interest in debating or discussing relevant national issues in the interest of the public at large rather they are just busy finding the political stability for their party.
The new all-opposition party alliance named I. N. D. I. A. (Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance) Is not more than any interest in the political power of the country. In Parliament, where most important issues can be debated and discussed for the benefit of Indian Citizens but where the majority party is passing one bill on another with single-handed debate, the opposition is just Interested in letting down the Confidence in Government through passing a No confidence motion in Lok Sabha.
In the Largest Democratic Country like INDIA, the role of the opposition is very important for having a perfect balance in the power and Distribution of power we say. The structure Indian Democracy is having will probably have a lesser chance of failed policy-making and implementation if both side of government i.e. the one in power and the other in opposition plays their part very efficiently. What could be the efficient part opposition can play? By taking part in the law-making process in Parliament, either the majority party having more votes to pass the bill, the duty on the part of the opposition should be to counter the Discretionary view of the majority in the house, counter the necessity and implementation procedures of the bill, etc. Although power plays an important role in Politics, our constitutional structure and democratic behavior of Indian Polity grants role, responsibilities, and duties on the part of the Opposition as a tool to establish their strong existence in the process of law-making and discussing National issues in the Parliament.
The political behavior today Indian Democracy is having just shows the power and Influence the Politics have, not the interest of the public at large. The most probable reason for this behavior could be an unorganized political structure India has evolved throughout since the fight for Independence. The one we could say is a fake star of Political power.
